Tuna Marinade

Prep Time: 35 minutes

Cooking time: 7 minutes

 

Marinade:

  1. Mix everything together in a large ziplock bag. 

  2. Place 4 4oz servings in the marinade for a minimum of 30 minutes. (The longer you allow this to marinade the better.) 

Directions:

  1. Get your frying pan really hot.

  2. Drop a tablespoon of butter in the pan.

  3. Once it’s melted place tuna steaks in the pan.

  4. Allow to cook on high for 60 sec to get a nice sear.

  5. Cover with a lid and cook on med heat for another 2 mins.

  6. Turn the heat back up flip and repeat.

Additional options:

  • Depending on the thickness of your tuna steak this will give you a med center.  

  • Adjust cooking time to your family’s liking

  •  Optional substitute low sodium soy sauce

  • Extra Heat – right before searing pepper the tuna

Ingredients:

4 4oz tuna steaks

1/4 cup orange juice 

1/4 cup soy sauce 

2 tbsp olive oil 

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp lemon zest 

2 tbsp chopped parsley

1 garlic clove minced 

1/2 tsp chopped oregano

1/2 tsp black pepper 

1 tbsp butter
